[Personality]
While his given name is Yuzuru Akie, that's not what you'll be hearing. In fact, when one hears, "Yuzuru Akie" he or she tends to wonder, "Who's that again?" This is because throughout the week, he refers to himself as nothing other than Joe.
Joe is the staple comedic relief of the group. The group meets Joe as he is running from demons (which he 'accidentally' summoned via his cell phone). Already, he is seen as the clumsy team-mate who always seems to be running away from both trouble and his problems. Nonetheless, he joins the team and provides useful insight and information (especially an escape route for that moment)! But back to that comedic relief. Joe is the first to make a joke, or attempt to bring levity to an otherwise heavy situation. Some may call him "spacey" or a bit "flighty". Joe has this tendency to event words and phrases on the fly, conjuring up this strange "rhyming" game for his answers. It involves taking a synonym of the word you want to use, and then rhyming a word with that synonym. For example, when he wants to say sorry, he simply says, "Quarry". but he's far from that.
Behind that cheery, humorous front, Joe is supressing quite a few demons. It is revealed that he has a girlfriend, and that she is hospitalized. While, at first, it may seem as if he Joe has no feelings for her, it becomes quite the opposite. His jacket, that he prides himself on (for getting such a good deal on overseas...! Even though it's a rip-off, considering the tag says: Armanyo), contains a rip in the inside lining. Where a tear once was is now a read heart with the letter 'J'. He reveals that it was his girlfriend that made the patch. However, that's unfortunately as revealing as Joe gets. He likes to hide his personal problems, and past, from the team. He'd rather be joking around and providing advice, than focusing on himself.
It is important to note, that while Joe is taken from before that point in canon, Joe opts to side with Ronaldo and his vision of "equality for all". Joe wants both freedom and equality. He is opposed to Yamato's idea of a "Merit based word". So, he sides with Ronaldo, who he calls Clicky... Perhaps because he is not strong enough to side with Daichi's 'in between route', or because Ronaldo reminds him of himself. Either way, so long as Joe has a good relationship with the main character, he can be swayed to join whichever route the Main Character takes.
While spacey and a jokester, he has a good grasp on what's happening.
[Abilities]
While the SMT series is filled with non-humans and the like, Joe is your ordinary, run of the mill human. He's got short brown hair, neatly folded under a fancy cap, and he loves his suits. But he's not supernatural. Instead, he relies on the Devil Summoning App provided for him on his cell-phone. Once a contract is made with a demon, the deal is sealed. He cannot delete or remove the app from his phone. This is for keeps.
Joe's got a quick mind, but he also has a poor grasp on consequences and reality. He likes to run away from his problems, and from conflict. He'd rather side with the "equal side" and rather not fight when he can. He'd rather just float around, enjoying food and life, than deal with anything "sad".

Like the other DeSu characters, he'll come with a preset set of skills that cannot be changed or alter, now that he is away from the power of Nicaeae.

While the others are choosing to bring their characters in with Demons, I'm opting to not have Joe bring any from back home. Unfortunate for him.
Rather, he'll still be able to use the gifts of his powers given from Nicaeae ( as listed above ), but he won't be able to summon any demons. His powers are limited, and it probably puts him at a disadvantage against the others.

Are you psychic? No, really... It's hard to explain, but yeah, we're already at war. I just want it to be over. I'm kinda dealing with a lot as it is, and these demon-things aren't really helping. But man, I'd hate to be going at it alone. I do like Clicky's edge, though. He seems like a good guy.I think?

If you were passing through Somni, you'd notice a certain cap-wearing individual taking a stroll through the heart of the city. He's got his hands his pockets and he's humming some jazzy tune. His mood seems lifted, and he seems as if he's playing out some awesome-scene in his head. Yeah, he's just in that good of a mood.
He stops outside a small shop, taking out the Dreamberry to give it a curious glance. In all honesty, he's confused as hell and he's been here for about two hours now. He barely understands this strange cell-phone, isn't sure why his Demon Summoning App isn't working, and why he can't get in contact with anyone, why Yamato isn't breathing down his and Hiro's neck - but most importantly ... how far away is he from her? His stomach's been churning but his face doesn't give it away. Instead, he looks like a happy local, just window-shopping.
Though the happiness doesn't persist for long, because while Joe is looking at all the window displays, he accidentally says something too catty, too coy, to a young lady, and he's getting slapped across the face. Maybe she just doesn't get his humor, or maybe he crossed a line.
Either way, he's now sporting a red streak across his face, and the smoothie he has been sipping on has spoiled his beautiful, import,fake jacket from overseas!
